Oops!

Apologies!

It appears some of you have not been receiving our blog post updates!

Thanks so much to the Mum who came in and told us this.

We are none the wiser otherwise!

Hopefully you all receive this blog post as I have resubmitted all your emails today.

Please have a chat to other Te Pihinga families to see if they are getting these posts.

One of our Frankley School values is for SUSTAINABILITY so we are going to be sharing most of our news via our blog.

DEVICES DEVICES DEVICES

At Frankley School we are linked up to Google Apps for Education (GAFE).  That is how we are able to set up and monitor gmail accounts for our students.  Today in Te Pihinga we had a discussion about the purpose of having a gmail account at school and that it is only used for educational purposes (as mentioned in the digital citizen form that you all signed).  The main points that came up were that all emails sent by the students must be cc to their teachers and that they are not to subscribe to Youtube channels, pinterest or any other social media using this account.   Any of the sites like Twitter or Youtube, that we use in class, the students access through one class account.  The other request we have is that if your child brings along their own ipad or tablet, can they please have the following free apps installed - Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Slides, Google Sheets, Class Dojo, Twitter, Spelling City, Gmail.  We also have asked the students to take some time as home learning to tidy up their emails and they should be checking them every night.

Week Four Already!!!!

Where did the last three weeks go!!

Lets see....
3 day week...
4 day week...
STIN Conferences...
Whole school beach trip....

Not to mention learning, learning ... and just a bit more learning!

So just a quick blog post for parents to ask your children the following:

Show me your home reader... or explain to me the teachers' expectations.

Where is your notebook and why are these words listed in here?
What day do we go to library to change our books in Te Pihinga?

Why does your notebook need to go home every night and back to school every day in your bookbag?

Your children know these answers - they also know to have sunhats and togs every day please.  Lets enjoy this sunshine... it has been a long time coming!

A great day for Tweeting!

Today some of our Te Pihinga team were 'tweeting' about our shared novel

It was a great fun writing answers to questions and looking at all the creative learning around our beautiful country.

We all followed this process very carefully.
